The challenge
For a new crop-protection factory in Melbourne, set to be one of the largest in the region, Nutrien wanted a single supplier and a single technical contact for the whole packaging plant, from filling to the wrapped pallet.
The solution
Jerrycan Filling + Robot Palletizing Line EL2-E-V — Turnkey Project
AiCROV engineered and supplied four complete jerrycan lines and managed the packaging plant end to end. On each line, an indexed feeding table buffers empty jerrycans and feeds an EL2-E in its vertical version, which fills three at a time before an AiCROV capper closes them. About 30 metres of belt conveyors take the jerrycans to one robot palletizer that serves all four lines: for each line it picks an empty pallet, lays a cardboard slip-sheet with a vacuum head and builds the load. Its gripper carries eight mechanical grips, four for 10 litres and four for 20 litres, so it palletizes both formats with no operator, even when lines run different formats at the same time. 5-litre jerrycans are palletized by hand. A shuttle collects finished pallets from each line and takes them to an automatic stretch wrapper, which adds a water- and dust-proof cover.
The result
A complete packaging plant from a single supplier: 300 to 330 jerrycans an hour on each line, and one robot palletizing four lines.
