More on this application: Filling machines for water treatment chemicals
The challenge
A water-treatment company near Barcelona needed to fill aggressive chemicals into drums and IBCs with materials that would stand up to them.
The solution
AiCROV – SP25 – Automatic Drum and IBC Filling Machine
An SP25, with motorised nozzle positioning, fitted with a titanium filling nozzle for corrosive products.
The result
Aggressive products filled by weight with a nozzle built to last, since 2016.
How the SP25 works
In the SP25 the operator no longer moves the filling head by hand: travel in X, in Y and in height is motorised. It is offered at three levels. With the joystick, the operator places the nozzle over each bunghole and the machine fills. With position memory, the operator teaches every bunghole once per pallet and the machine fills the whole pallet by itself. With machine vision (an accessory), the machine finds each bunghole without teaching and becomes fully automatic.
Why a titanium nozzle
Water-treatment chemicals attack ordinary stainless steel. What changes with an aggressive product is not the machine model but the parts in contact with it, so this SP25 was built with a titanium filling nozzle. The rest of the machine — weighing, motorised head, control — is the standard SP25, which fills up to 65 drums or 15 IBCs an hour.
