The challenge
A producer of petroleum-derived chemicals in Dammam needed to fill flammable and explosive products into drums and IBCs safely, in a hazardous area.
The solution
Semi-automatic liquid filling machine for drums and containers, model SP2
An SP2 placed on a pallet conveyor line that feeds and removes pallets automatically. The nozzle fills by immersion: it goes down to the bottom of the container and rises with the product, with no free fall and no splashing.
The result
AiCROV’s first project in Saudi Arabia, in operation since 2016.
How the line works
Pallets of empty drums or IBCs arrive on the infeed conveyor and advance to the filling station only when the operator authorizes it from the panel. The operator positions the filling head over each container, and the machine tares and fills to the net weight. Full pallets leave on the outfeed conveyor, and the operator never has to drive a pallet truck into the filling area.
Immersion filling for flammable products
With the immersion assembly, the nozzle goes down to the bottom of the container and rises with the product. There is no free fall and no splashing, which is what flammable and explosive products need. The SP2 is also available in an explosion proof version and with inert gas filling.
