The challenge
Sadaps Bardahl wanted one line for lubricating oils and greases in drums, IBCs and small jerrycans, with the same accuracy on all of them, and with every pallet going to the stretch wrapper without extra forklift trips.
The solution
SP2 Filling Line + Extra Scale: Drums, IBCs & Jerrycans | Lubricants – Sadaps Bardahl
An SP2 fills drums and IBCs on its pallet scale. The pallet scale is too coarse for 10 to 25-litre jerrycans, so a second, smaller scale sits beside it: the operator swings the SP2 arm over it and fills jerrycans with the same nozzle and practically the same electronics — two machines in one. Filling is by immersion, so the nozzle reaches the bottom and no air is trapped in viscous oils. Jerrycans are capped at a station with a pneumatic tool, and a zero-gravity manipulator lets the operator palletize them straight onto the main conveyor. Every pallet, of drums, IBCs or jerrycans, then goes to the automatic stretch wrapper.
The result
One line for every container size, each filled at high accuracy, with every pallet leaving wrapped.
