The challenge
A water-treatment chemicals producer in northern Italy needed to fill corrosive acids and bases into drums and IBCs with no operator near the product and no vapours escaping into the plant.
The solution
Robot Filler for Drums & IBCs — Enclosed Line, Acids & Bases, Water Treatment
A single Robot Filler carries all its tools at once — drum and IBC decapping and capping, plastic-drum sealing and an immersion nozzle that fills from the bottom up — and picks each one in turn. The whole filling area sits inside an enclosure built by AiCROV, with high-power extraction; the doors open only to move a pallet in or out, and filling happens with them closed. Because acids and bases need different materials, the line has two dosing units, one in titanium and one in 316L stainless steel, both with PTFE seals. To swap them, the robot parks the unit in a CIP station that holds both, so the operator never lifts any weight. A plastic cover protects the robot from splashes and vapours.
The result
About 35 drums and 17 IBCs an hour, with aggressive vapours kept inside the cell, in continuous production for years.
