The challenge
A chemical producer in France needed a simple, accurate way to fill 200-litre drums, steel and plastic, one after another without a forklift between drums.
The solution
LSB Semi-Automatic Drum Filling Machine — 200 L Steel & Plastic | Chemical, France
An LSB with a free-roller infeed that holds up to six empty drums. The operator pushes each drum onto the scale, which also has rollers, turns it to line up the bunghole and presses start. The nozzle goes down and fills under the bunghole, from coarse to fine to hit the target weight; then it rises and an anti-drip tray moves in beneath it. The full drum rolls out on the outfeed conveyor.
The result
Drum after drum filled to ±0.1% by one operator, with no forklift between drums.
Why a fixed nozzle
On the LSB the nozzle does not move; the drum does. There is no head to position, no axis to motorise and nothing to go out of alignment, which makes the LSB the simplest reliable way to fill drums by weight. The LSB fills drums from 30 to 250 litres, up to 65 drums of 220 litres an hour.
