The challenge
A chemical plant near Barcelona, working to GMP, needed to fill many products into drums and IBCs with no operator handling the product and no risk of cross-contamination between them.
The solution
Robot Filler in Production — GMP Drum & IBC Line, 8 Dedicated Nozzles | Chemical
Robot Filler for Drums & IBCs — GMP Line, 8 Dedicated Nozzles | Chemical
Robot Filler — IBC Filling Close-Up: Uncap, Fill & Recap | Chemical
An L-shaped chain-conveyor line built around a Robot Filler, AiCROV’s first. Operators load containers at the entry; on the weighing conveyor, the robot locates every bunghole — four per drum pallet, one per IBC — then uncaps, fills, recaps and crimps a metal seal, changing between four tools on its tool changer. Instead of flushing one nozzle between products, the line has eight dedicated nozzles, one per product family, each with its own hose. On a recipe change, the robot swaps nozzles at a fixed position; the resting nozzles sit in an independent cleaning system, and nozzle-ID detection checks that the mounted nozzle matches the selected product before any filling starts. At the outlet, two labellers label on the move and an automatic stretch wrapper covers each pallet.
The result
In continuous production since 2015, with no cross-contamination by design.
