The challenge
A solvents producer in Spain needed to fill flammable solvents into round and rectangular cans of many sizes, all with an off-centre bung, with no risk of ignition.
The solution
Explosion Proof Automatic Filling Machine EL2-E — Nitrogen Inerting, Solvents | AiCROV
An EL2-E in an explosion proof version with four stations. The first centres each can so its off-centre bung sits under the nozzle. The second purges the oxygen with nitrogen: without oxygen there is no ignition. The third fills in two speeds, fast then slow, while feeding nitrogen into the can, with a final top-up just before the nozzle withdraws so the can reaches the capper still inerted. The fourth presses on a push-on cap.
The result
Flammable solvents filled to ±0.1% in an oxygen-free atmosphere, from 1 to 30 litres on one machine.
