The challenge
A producer in Russia needed to fill a highly flammable, explosive liquid into 30-litre round metal drums with a handle and an off-centre bung, closed with a press-fit cap that is hard to seat.
The solution
Explosion Proof Automatic Drum Filling Machine EL2-E — Nitrogen Inerting, Flammable Chemicals
An EL2-E in a U-shaped layout, in an explosion proof version. The operator only drops drums on the toothed infeed; no positioning is needed. At the first station, side wheels spin each drum until a photocell finds the bung, and stop it always in the same position. At the second, nitrogen purges the oxygen from the drum before a single nozzle fills it, fast up to 85–90% and then slowly to ±0.1%. The third presses on the cap automatically.
The result
Every drum oriented, inerted, filled and capped with no operator handling, in production since 2018.
