The challenge
For a second line, Indian Oil wanted to go one step further than filling: drums uncapped, filled, recapped, sealed and palletized automatically, with no operator handling of the product.
The solution
Automatic Drum Filling Line EL2-B-4 + Palletizer | Chemical & Petrochemical
An EL2-B with four stations, followed by an automatic drum palletizer. On every cycle the drums move forward one station. At the first, the drum turns while sensors find the bunghole, and the cap is removed and carried by conveyor to the last station, so each drum gets its own cap back. The second station fills about 90% of the target at high flow on a load cell; the third adds the rest slowly to reach ±0.1%. At the fourth, a cone re-centres the drum, the cap is screwed to a controlled torque and a metal seal is fitted. The palletizer then takes an empty pallet from the stack, pushes the drums onto it two by two and discharges the full pallet for the forklift.
The result
Drums leave the line filled, closed, sealed and on the pallet, with no one touching the product.
