The challenge
Clariant needed to fill flammable chemicals into IBCs and metal drums continuously, without the filler stopping every time a pallet came in or went out.
The solution
SP2 Automatic IBC & Drum Filling Line — Explosion Proof, 12-IBC Buffers | Clariant, Tarragona
A fully automatic SP2 line on roller conveyors, built in an explosion proof version. A decapping station opens drums and IBCs before the filler; after filling, a station caps them and seals the drums. Twelve-pallet buffers at the infeed and outfeed keep the filler working without pause. At the filling station the container sits on a Mettler Toledo scale. The immersion nozzle carries an earthing clamp that must be in place before the nozzle will open, and it rises in steps as the container fills.
The result
Continuous automatic filling of flammable products, with buffers that let a whole shift run without stopping the filler.
