Aicrov, founded in 2006, started in the city of Tarragona providing technical and maintenance services to local companies. At that point the man who is now Managing Director, Albert Rovira, an engineer by training, started alone. A great deal has happened since. As its customers’ needs grew, the company grew with them and moved premises twice more, and is today in the Riu Clar industrial estate, with seventeen people on the payroll and four distinct lines of business.

From the start the company has kept adding to what it offers. Aicrov, which builds and sells filling and palletising solutions, still provides technical service, but it has three further lines of business: it modifies existing filling machines, it sells third-party equipment — including its partnership with the German company Alwid — and, finally, it designs and manufactures its own machines. Products and services aimed mainly at the chemical and petrochemical companies of the Camp de Tarragona, though also at food and pharmaceutical companies.

Its strategic plan is built on innovation, bringing to market the new LSG VAB line — a semi-automatic solution ideal for highly acidic and highly corrosive products — and the EL2-E-2, an automatic solution that combines the footprint of an automatic machine with the output of a semi-automatic one.

Its people, its greatest asset. It looks like a family business, because for its Managing Director “our greatest asset is our people. They are all deeply involved in the project, and at the same time very demanding about everything we produce.” Rovira highlights the Visual Management and coaching sessions held every three months, and the company’s complete transparency with staff, on activity and production as well as on finances.
